Yes you can, but, you need to show that your symptoms are so severe, and not controlled by medication, so that it is clear to Social Security that you will be unable to work for at least one year. Often Parkinson’s Disease is controlled for a time with medication and people are able to function. At some point it usually gets to the point where the medication is not working so well and symptoms are increasing despite medication and individual’s functional abilities are severely impacted and it causes a lot of disruption in a persons daily activities.
If your condition is so severe that you cannot be expected to work for at least one year, then you have a good claim for Social Security Disability.
