Two people were involved in a head-on collision this Sunday in Bell Township. One of the drivers, a man from Vandergrift, sustained serious injuries and later died. The other driver, a woman from Monroeville, remains in critical condition following the accident.
Bell Township County Accident
The accident happened between Muffley Hollow Road and Route 819 Sunday afternoon. The accident occurred after the man from Vandergrift’s vehicle crossed over the center line and crashed into a 21-year-old female’s vehicle head-on. Both vehicles began to smoke and catch fire. Fortunately, a few witnesses nearby were able to pull both victims from their vehicles before police arrived on the scene. Both victims were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. The male driver passed away due to his severe injuries, while the young woman is still hospitalized with severe injuries. It is not certain as to why the man’s vehicle crossed over the center line. An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause.
