Shortly after midnight, an apparent wrong-way crash occurred on Route 28 near the Highland Park Bridge. Police report that one vehicle was driving in the wrong direction and crashed head on with a vehicle traveling north. At least two people were injured in the crash.
It is not certain as to why the at fault driver was travelling in the wrong direction.
Route 28 was closed for several hours following the accident.
An investigation is ongoing.
