The school bus rear-ended the truck which was stopped at a light. There was so much damage done to the front of the school bus that the driver had to be cut out by rescue workers. He then had to be flown to Allegheny General Hospital due to his serious injuries. Fortunately, the driver was wearing his seatbelt, which police believe saved his life.
There were four students on the bus who were from Indiana Area School District visiting Butler County for a band event. They were all taken to a nearby hospital for minor injuries.
The truck driver suffered minor injuries as well.
An investigation is pending to determine what caused the accident and why the driver of the bus failed to stop.
