After she was struck, she ended up underneath the SUV. Bystanders rushed to her aid and helped pull her out from underneath the vehicle. They were performing CPR on her when emergency crews arrived on the scene.
The woman was then taken to Forbes Hospital where she later died from her injuries. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s office said she died from blunt force trauma and ruled her death as an accident.
The driver of the SUV was a woman in her 70s. Police said she is cooperating with them and no charges have been filed at this time.
Police are investigating the accident and looking to security cameras to help determine what happened.
