Latrobe Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash in Washington Township

On July 22, 2015, early in the morning, a motorcyclist was killed in a head-on collision on Route 366 in Washington Township. A Chevrolet pickup truck that was driving east on Route 366 veered into the opposite lane and hit the motorcycle head-on.

After the impact, both the pickup truck and motorcycle ran off of the road and over an embankment. The motorcyclist died at the scene of the accident due to the severe impact of the crash. The driver of the pickup truck was treated and released at Forbes Hospital for his injuries.

It is not certain why the pickup truck veered into oncoming traffic. Local police and a state accident reconstruction team are investigating the accident at this time.

This is the second fatal motorcycle accident in the last two days in Westmoreland County. On Tuesday July 21, 2015, a motorcyclist died after he tried to pass a vehicle on Arona Road. The motorcyclist lost control of his bike and died because of his injuries.
