Dresser Sold at Kmart Recalled Over Tip-Over Risk.
A dresser sold at Kmart, is being recalled due to a tip-over risk. The dresser does not meet industry standards. The dressers can tip over, causing a serious entrapment hazard to children.
The recall includes about 20,000 Essential Home Belmont 2.0 4-drawer dressers.
The dressers came in 4 colors: Black (Model #F214-PRF), Pine (Model #F214-MEF), Walnut (Model #F214-WAF) and White (#F214-BRF).
The dressers were sold at Kmart stores nationwide and online at Kmart.com from March 2019-April 2020 for about $60.
The CPSC urges anyone who purchased the recalled dressers to stop using them and contact Transform at 800-659-7026 or Kmart customer service.
Kmart will only be offering consumers a free tip-over restraint kit.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, 28,000 people are injured in tip-overs every year with more than half of them being children. It is important to anchor any furniture that poses a tip-over risk.
