Ford has issued a recall on 300,000 F-150 trucks over a brake fluid leak.
Ford says, in affected trucks, brake fluid could leak from the brake master cylinder’s front-wheel circuit into the brake booster.
Ford says if this occurs, “the driver could hear an audible chime, get a message center alert or see a brake warning on the truck’s instrument panel. If brake function is reduced in the front wheels, the rear wheels will not lose their braking ability.”
The recall affects certain Ford F-150 trucks from 2014 through 2017.
Ford says affected consumers can bring their vehicles to dealerships where mechanics will replace the affected vehicles’ brake master cylinder and the brake booster, if needed.
Ford says there have seven accidents and two injuries due to the defective brakes.
Owners can visit Ford’s website to see if their vehicle is involved in the recall.
