The auto manufacturer, Fiat Chrysler, has recalled more than 700,000 SUVs due to a brake issue in the vehicles. The recall was issued to make sure shields that protect brake boosters was properly installed. The shields protect the brake boosters from corrosion caused by water. If the shield was not installed properly, the water would cause corrosion and excessive firmness when braking.
This recall is issued in conjunction with a recall issued back in 2014. The shields were installed in these vehicles at that time but some may have been installed improperly.
The affected models are 2011-2014 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs.
At this time, the company says it is aware of one potential accident due to the issue.

A claim may be pursued to pay for damages caused by the defective product such as medical bills, missed time from work and pain and suffering.
