Motorcyclist Dies After Car Drives into his Path.
A motorcycle crash on Route 30, near the Arby’s in Irwin, has left one man dead. According to police, the accident occurred Saturday night around 9 p.m.
Police say the accident occurred when a vehicle drove into the motorcycle’s path. The motorcyclist could not stop in time and crashed into the driver’s side of the vehicle. The vehicle then flipped over onto its roof.
The motorcyclist died on impact and the driver of the vehicle was taken to a nearby hospital for minor injuries.
Drivers of motor vehicles tend to merge into lanes without seeing a motorcyclist which then causes an accident. Also, drivers turning in front of motorcycles is a common way an accident occurs. Drivers do not realize that motorcyclists cannot slow down as easily as a vehicle can.
