A fatal car accident occurred in Fayette County when a vehicle crossed over the center line. Police believe speeding to be a contributing factor.
The accident occurred late on September 3rd, when the driver of a vehicle traveling at high speeds lost control on Connellsville Street in North Union. Police reported that the driver overcompensated a curve and lost control. They then crossed over the center line and crashed head-on into another vehicle.
The driver and passenger of the speeding vehicle suffered fatal injuries and had to be extracted from the vehicle.
The driver and passenger of the vehicle that was struck were both seriously injured and flown by medical helicopter to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
The accident is still under investigation.
