A head-on collision on Route 66 in Washington Township, Westmoreland County, has left one man dead and five others injured. Three of those injured, had to be airlifted to local hospitals, including two children who were transported to Children’s Hospital.  The accident is still under investigation, but authorities believe a white truck crossed over the center lines and struck the two vehicles head on. Route 66 was closed for several hours.

It has not been confirmed, however, most head-on collisions result from distracted driving. Distracted driving is not only illegal it is deadly. Texting is the biggest form of distracted driving we see today and sadly, innocent lives are being lost because of it.  Do your part by avoiding distractions in the vehicle and never text and drive.
