Duncan Hines is voluntarily recalling several of their cake mixes due to a possible salmonella risk. The recall was issued after the company’s classic white cake mix tested positive for salmonella.
Congra Brands, the manufacturer of Duncan Hines, said they are working with federal health officials to investigate whether their products are linked to a larger salmonella outbreak. Duncan Hines cannot confirm their other cake mixes have not been affected at this time.
Out of caution, the company is recalling other cake mixes that were produced around the same time as the contaminated white cake mix. This includes: Classic Butter Golden, Signature Confetti and Classic Yellow cake mixes.
