It has been recently published, that in 2008, Apple patented a technology called "Lock Out" which would disable an iPhone's ability to text when the user is operating a vehicle. Although texting and driving is illegal in over 40 states, some believe technology may be the solution. Apple has no comment at this time on whether or not this new technology will be made available for IPhone users.
