The auto manufacturer, General Motors (GM), has issued a recall on 800,000 trucks worldwide
The recall includes the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and the 2014 GMC Sierra 1500. The vehicles have the potential to lose their power steering.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) says that according to GM, the trucks could potentially lose power steering; most likely during low-speed turning.
Before the 2015 models were produced, GM says they made necessary changes to avoid low voltage conditions that would disable power steering.
GM will overwrite the vehicles software in the 2014 trucks to fix the issue. They have not released when they plan to begin fixing the defective models or notifying owners.
At this time, GM does not have any details on whether this defect has caused any injuries or accidents.
