Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, May 31, 2017 — The law firm Berger and Green of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania has announced the ‘Berger and Green Heart Disease Scholarship,’ a program designed to support students facing the prospect of navigating college while living with heart disease.
The CDC reports that one percent of babies born in the U.S. today – about 40,000 per year – are born with a congenital heart defect. “Having a congenital heart defect or being diagnosed with cardiovascular disease radically affects the direction of a person’s life,” the firm states. “There are numerous trials and limitations that people with heart disease must face that will test their resolve, character, and faith.”
