According to officials, the vehicle crashed into a utility pole in front of the water treatment plant. An investigation is being conducted to determine why the vehicle crashed into the pole.
A Pittsburgh Public Safety spokesperson stated that one of the passengers in the vehicle died. The driver and another passenger were both seriously injured and were taken to nearby hospitals. One victim went to Mercy Hospital while the other went to UPMC Presbyterian. They both remain in critical condition.
The road was shut down for some time while crews investigated and cleared the scene.
