Understanding What Happened

Bayer Pharmaceuticals developed Xarelto (Rivaroxaban) and partnered with Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen Pharmaceuticals to market the anticoagulant. Xarelto is a “next generation” blood thinner. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the drug in 2011, and it quickly became a popular alternative to Coumadin (warfarin).
