Multi-Vehicle Accident in Westmorland County Leaves One Dead and Four Injured.
A multi-vehicle accident in Westmoreland County has left one person dead and four others seriously injured.
The accident happened October 21st in the evening on I-70 at the Youghiogheny River Bridge in South Huntingdon Township, Westmoreland County.
Police say the accident involved two tractor-trailers and multiple passenger vehicles.
According to emergency officials, the victim was brought to a stop with multiple other vehicles. A tractor-trailer, did not slow down for the stopped vehicles and struck the victim from behind, ejecting him from the vehicle. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
At least four other people were injured in the crash and were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
