On June 6, 2014, a woman was struck by a Port Authority bus near the intersection of Sixth Avenue and Smithfield Street right after 5:00 p.m.
The woman is reported to have been walking alongside the bus when it struck her. The bus has been identified as the 61D Murray.
After the incident, emergency crews closed Sixth Avenue between Grant and Smithfield streets. The woman was transported by ambulance to UPMC Mercy Hospital.
No reports have been made as to how extensive the woman’s injuries are or what exactly happened to cause the accident.
