Marissa K. Kohl
Marissa K. Kohl graduated from the Pennsylvania State University in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology with focuses in law and business. Following her undergraduate education, Attorney Kohl interned at Mears, Smith, Houser & Boyle, P.C. in Greensburg, Pennsylvania under Attorney Kim Ross Houser. There she was exposed to personal injury law, estates and trusts, workers’ compensation, corporate law, and Social Security disability. She left Mears & Smith to attend Duquesne University School of Law where she graduated cum laude with her Juris Doctor.
During law school, Attorney Kohl was a Dean’s Scholar and received the CALI Award for Excellence in Civil Procedure. She also worked as a law clerk at Woomer & Talarico where she provided support in personal injury cases.
Attorney Kohl began her legal career as a law clerk for the Honorable Donald R. Walko, Jr. in the Civil Division of the Alleghany County Court of Common Pleas. Attorney Kohl joined Berger and Green in 2019.
Attorney Kohl is licensed to practice in all Pennsylvania State Courts. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Association for Justice (PAJ), the Western Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association (WPTLA) and the Allegheny County Bar Association (ACBA).
Attorney Kohl has been honored with inclusion in the 2021-2023 Super Lawyers Rising Stars lists for Pennsylvania. Annually, the Super Lawyers research team, a division of Thomson Reuters, carefully selects no more than 2.5 percent of lawyers in the state to receive this prestigious recognition.
Attorney Kohl handles personal injury cases at Berger and Green and is eager to assist people who have been injured due to other’s fault. She understands that injuries can be traumatic and have life altering effects. Attorney Kohl focuses on helping individuals during these trying times when they may not be able to help themselves. In doing so, she strives to allow her clients the ability to focus solely on what is most important– recovering from their injuries. Attorney Kohl approaches each case with the nuances required of the unique individual and makes every effort to do so in an efficient, candid, and dedicated manner.
