Infants’ Ibuprofen is being recalled due to a concentration issue.  The pain and fever reducer may contain higher concentrations of the medicine which cause harm to infants.

The recalled medications are as follows:

Equate: Infants’ Ibuprofen Concentrated Oral Suspension, sold at Walmart.

CVS Health: Infants’ Ibuprofen Concentrated Oral Suspension, sold at CVS.

Family Wellness: Infants’ Ibuprofen Concentrated Oral Suspension, sold at Family Dollar.

The FDA said, all the brands of Ibuprofen were 50 mg per 1.25 ml.

The FDA believes there is a possibility that some infants who may be more susceptible to a higher level of drug are more vulnerable to permanent NSAID-associated renal injury.

Wholesalers and retailers of the product should stop selling of the affected products and consumers should return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
