Confer Plastics are recalling three models of their pool step systems due to an entrapment and drowning risk. The manufacturer has recalled over 100,000 stairs.
The recalled stairs are as follows: model number #CCX-AG 4-step staircase for above ground pools, #CCX-IG 3-step staircase for in-ground pools and #CCX-ADD curved add-on unit for both above and in-ground pools.
The stairs were sold at stores nationwide from January 2013-July 2018 ranging from $200.00-$400.00.
Consumers should immediately stop using the stairs and contact Confer Plastics for a free repair kit to prevent entrapments. You can contact them at conferplastics.com or at 800-635-3213.
Confer Plastics have received two reports of children getting their arms caught in the side panel openings of the stairs. The children suffered from minor abrasions, but no drownings have occurred.
