Vitamix has recalled over 100,000 of their blender containers due to a laceration risk. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has received 11 reports of individuals cutting themselves on the exposed blades of the container.
The defective containers include the Ascent and Venturist Series 8-ounce and 20-ounce containers. The actual blender is not recalled; only the container.
The recalled containers were sold nationwide at Costco, Williams-Sonoma and Vitamix’s website from April 2017-July 2018.
New blending cups were manufactured beginning April 2018 with a new design that eliminates the issue of a laceration risk from a blade.
Anyone who has purchased the recalled product should immediately stop using it and contact Vitamix at 888-847-8842 for a free repair kit.
