A head-on collision on Route 219 in Adams Township, has left one woman dead. The accident involved three vehicles and several people were injured.
Police said a pick-up truck driven by an intoxicated driver caused the crash. Eye witnesses reported that the pick-up truck stopped on the highway, turned around and began driving in the wrong direction. The pick-up truck struck the victim and her passenger head-on. The victim was then struck by a Freightliner truck who was not able to stop in time to avoid the accident.
The victim died due to her extensive injuries. Her passenger injured their leg and required surgery while the others involved remained in stable condition.
