Ford has issued a recall on over 200,000 Trucks and SUVs in the United States due to loose front seat cushions.
Ford says the problem comes from a bolt in the power seat adjuster that can come loose or fall out. If this occurs, the seat cushion can move too far. This could be dangerous in the event of a crash.
The recall affects certain models of 2016 F-150 and Explorers with power seats.
Ford dealers will inspect the bolts. If they pass the inspection the bolts will be reinstalled with an adhesive to make sure they stay in place. If the bolts fail inspection, mechanics will secure the bolts with adhesive until the parts for repair are available.
At this time, Ford says there have been no reports of injuries in the United States due to the defect. Ford says owners will be notified beginning January 8, 2018.
