The well-known auto manufacturer, Toyota, has recalled 250,000 Tacoma pickup trucks worldwide due to a potential oil leak hazard. The recall involves the 2016 and 2017 Toyota Tacoma. The vehicle can potentially leak oil causing damage to the rear differential. The risks associated with this defect are noise, reduced propulsion and even loss of control of the vehicle. Toyota said it will replace necessary parts if an oil leak is found. If no leakage is present, they will tighten fasteners to prevent any future damage. Toyota declined to comment on whether or not there have been any reports of injuries or accidents due to the oil leaks.
How to know if your vehicle has been recalled
If your Toyota Tacoma falls between the affected model years (2016 and 2017), be on the lookout for notification of the recall. Toyota will be notifying affected owners beginning mid-June. You can also visit Toyota.com/recall for more information.
