Popular chip manufacturer Frito-Lay is recalling their Lay’s Kettle Cooked Jalapeño Chips and Miss Vickie’s Jalapeño Chips. The chips are being recalled after Frito-Lay was informed that the jalapeño powder they use was recalled due to a potential salmonella risk. No reports have been made so far that indicate there was indeed salmonella bacteria in the seasoning. Frito-Lay is voluntarily recalling the chips as a precaution.
How to know if your chips have been recalled
Packages of chips that have a guaranteed fresh date of July 4th or prior, have been recalled. Also, any chips that were part of a multipack with a use by date of June 20th or prior have been recalled. Other flavors in the multipacks are not included in this recall according to Frito-Lay.
