The mega-store, Target, is recalling more than 500,000 Easter toys due to a possible ingestion risk. The recalled products are the Hatch & Grow Easter Eggs, Easter Grow Toys and Hatch Your Own Dino Egg products. The Consumer Product Safety Commission says that if these toys are swallowed, they can expand in the child’s stomach and cause serious abdominal problems that would require surgery. The toys may also not show up on an x-ray scan as well. So far, there have been zero reports of any injuries.
How to know if your toy has been recalled
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, consumers should look for the model number 234-25-1200 on the back of the package of the Hatch and Grow Easter Eggs and Easter Grow toy product. If you purchased the Hatch Your Own Dino Egg product, look for the model number 234-09-0016 on the inside of the package. Consumers are urged to immedicably stop using the toys and return to any Target stores for a refund. The toys were sold at Target from February through March for $1.00.
